Thats assuming it's all actually been paid for
She was selling tickets at least 5-6 weeks before she booked the Kings Hall

There was 2-3 people from here rang the Kings Hall to see if they had a booking for a motor show in July to which the reply was definitely nothing confirmed, at this point she had tickets on groupon etc lol

I know an organiser of another very large event that put the whole thing on credit cards. He ended up sell his car and 2 motorbikes to try and pay it off afterwards. It seemed like a decent event when it took place, with plenty of people in attendance, but when it came down to it, the profits were non-existent and nearly burst him...

Further to my previous post, thought it might be a good idea to have a list of the exhibitors who were there, not because they are at fault here, I think they are as much victims as anyone else as they probably had to pay to be there. And it would be interesting to hear their side of the story.

Please feel free to cut/paste/make amendments and repost as needed.

Hall:

Shows ruin businesses. Fate magazine if you remember it went out of business owing £120k. Totally down to the fate awards. I know that as fact as the owner tried to sell me the biz for... Wait for it.... £120k. I think it still owed the waterfront many thousands after 3 years from one of the first award shows.

We will find out probably tomorrow if the kings halls etc have been paid.

"We have been working extremely hard to ensure we deliver an action-packed weekend with all aspects of motoring under one roof, including exhibitors from all aspects of the motoring industry, car and bike experts and enthusiasts, demonstrations, guest appearances, family fun, entertainment, stunts and so much more.

"The event is designed to be memorable for all ages and all motor-related interests; for the children there's a dedicated area which will offer education, interaction, fun with karting, giant games as well as bouncy castles, face-painting and more.

"For the big kids, there will are some real treats in store, including a Formula One challenge and simulators – to name but a few.

"We also want to ensure that the show provides businesses the perfect opportunity to showcase their products and services to a captive audience – and so far we have companies exhibiting from not only Northern Ireland but the mainland UK and the Republic," she said.

Would anyone like to point out to me anywhere she succeeded.

Aside from making it a memorable event. Lol

Starting from the top.

No stunts.

OK, the W5 guys did the education bit, and they were great actually. There was small battery powered karts but I think you had to pay extra. No "giant games" as I recall. There was free face painting. Had to pay for bouncy castles though (all this is ahead of you Pete )

There wasn't anything that would fit the description of "Formula One challenge."

Just realised, Eddie Irvine Sports were not there. That lot usually appear at the opening of an envelope ;)

They must have smelt a rat early on.

Selling tickets before booking the location = organiser either not having the capital to use upfront OR not willing to risk their own money (thus meaning our money making scheme) I think it is the latter.

I would say it's a bit of both. A wedding organiser like her could hardly have been rolling in it to go booking a £50k venue out of her own pocket...

@swantsy we usually do a 50/50 on clean paintwork but the point of the car was to also demonstrate the ability of 50cals products on a car that hadn't been washed since December. The paintwork was fantastic until every **** and their dog insisted in rubbing their hands all over the car covering it in light scratches again. Actually couldn't believe it when I saw a mum letting her child attempt to write in the dirt on the dirty side!!

Another reason for the half dirty as opposed to all clean is we were simply tackling a different market that 90% of people in attendance don't understand or appreciate the swirls etc so making a visual impact had to come from a different approach

Fair enough, I see where your coming from. Maybe some graphics on the windscreen to highlight the point though would help. Apologies if there was something and I missed it!

4 thousand tickets sold in that report above. So at least £40k before anyone even went through the door. Id say she has made a nice profit out if it!!

if thats true, someone has made a few quid, shows are not the "Earner" that everyone thinks they are, unless you are serving up sh*te like the event in question.
I was on the phone to an organiser last week, and hes been putting shows on for years, he has lost fortunes in the process but luckily other business prop it up, he rekons to put his event on at Santa Pod, he has to spend 100k to make 20k.
