Lovely car, worth every penny imo.

@SMURF1 agreed, this not an advert to sell, just an invitation for offers..

Had the pleasure of being out a run in this car many years ago.......

Despite many peoples views of the man, I find it incredibly sad that illness means he is now at a position where he is going to sell this car.

Agreed. Toys are nice and all and I know this is a clichéd thing to say but if you have your health you truly are a millionaire.

Forgive my ignorance, but who is Eddie Torrens?

I can see on google he owned an engine importing/exporting business, is this where he made all his money?

For those of us who are a little older Eddie is a bit of a local legend. Full of character and done very well for himself. As already said plenty might not have liked him but either way you could write a book with some of the stories that man has been the subject of !!!

He has a son in Thailand I think after his Thai bride left him and went home apparently ha has one of the biggest car breakers ther! Eddi also bought him an ex wrc impreza when he was 16 to get him started in rallying! These are stories that iv heard though might not be 100% true lol

I remember a Ferrari but not sure which model.

Some stories. Burying cars in the bottom field lol.
Trying to buy a brand spankers Porsche in England with cash.
The mysterious fire.
As said they should write a book while he's still fit to recite them then publish it when he's gone.

He came into my fathers electrical retail shop in Portstewart to buy long distance walkie talkies for the yard.
Eddie decided what they were worth & left with them lol.

He bought a Ferrari in England as well, after Hursts laughed at him. The full version of that story and what happened in England is priceless, again if its all true.

I went up to lift an engine off him a few years ago now for a 300. Mine ended with an impressive hole in the side of it. As I was loading it into a pickup I turned to Eddie and said "Eddie did you actually here this thing running? I hope its a good one !!!" his response in his strong accent "well its better than the one you're taking out" we both done some laughing.
Such a character

He's a ballymoney man to the bone, never took any lip off anyone and is a self made man who struggled with even reading and writing.

The story goes he was breaking cars when he was at school.

I'll never forget his red Testarossa sitting outside our local shop in ballymoney. My Dad knew him and got Eddie to let me sit in it...felt like I was meeting a rock star back then! Ha!

I drove that Cosworth back in the 90's when I was looking to buy one. It was in fantastic condition and was extremely quick, at that time I had a 400bhp 300ZX modified by Skeet Motorsport [no idea if they still exist] it was in the max power mag and video. But that Cosworth of his was quicker. I've know Eddie since I was 17, and I was only 19 maybe 20 when I had the ZX. Eddie just give me the keys and said take it with you. He's the kinda guy that, if you got on well with him from day one, he was alway spot on after. Anyway the deal didn't happen, but not long after I bought a 1996 with 3000miles on it. Still wish I had it.

Haven't seen him in ages, always heard he let he Cosworth. Last time I spoke to him he had a F430.
