Sausage kerbs need to go, the fact they put in a catapulting ramp as a punishment to getting offline at the corner is ridiculous

He’d have been dead without the halo, and still lucky he didn’t to get stabbed in the head by carbon fibre floor.

In fairness, that car should never have re-joined like that in the first place. Would arguably have been an even worse collision without that curb sending them over the other car instead of straight through it...

The curbs are much worse now that they are running with basically solid suspension in F1. Charles took flight off one in Canada iirc?

I'm sure they will be looked at in due course, along with other unforeseen consequences of the new cars.

Then again, they are used precisely to stop drivers cutting corners. Just stay on the circuit and it's not an issue

The video doesn’t show the before, he came in contact with another car and the tyre off the rim with broken steering to boot. No chance of recovering.

He was pushed off the track by the car he ended up colliding with, he had no control once off the track.

Nose into side impacts aren’t great and usually pretty heavy, but bound to be safer than sending a car into head height. Nose of the car height the halo area it would be a disaster too.

Wasn’t getting out of the car that’s the issue. It’s the car having assistance to get going again that’s the problem. Is he got back in and it started for him he could have drove back and restarted.
