Love it Sammy ... Great asset and toy to have

Thanks Chris, wish I could drive it through the winter but it would simply ruin it lol.

Then I think why not just sell up & buy something awesome to drive every day. Would love an F30 M3 or something along those lines
A cracking car Sam, that’s one worth holding onto 👍

Thanks Mark will do for now....

Hi Guys, finally made it to the garage to fit a wee pressie from Santa after all the eating and drinking. An ARC titanium Heatshield all the way from Japan.

They stopped manufacturing these a while ago and are becoming quite a hard thing to come by. Think it brightens up the engine bay that little bit more :grinning:

First time I’ve looked at her since October...

And the Heatshield

Hi Guys, tiny update time...

Like most people I’ve been stuck in the house this past while... had a few bits sitting about I bought recently & thought I might as well throw them on the evo to give me something to do. Not much of an update but hey it makes for some sort of reading at least :joy:

A set of titanium bolts to go along with the ARC titanium manifold cover, Just tidies that area that little bit more but I do plan on doing the rest of the engine bay with these too.

Also managed to source a titanium bonnet stay for some extra JDM points.

I was pretty close to taking it for a good drive this afternoon but after seeing the amount of salt still covering the roads I’m sorta glad I didn’t. Another month from now and we will be ready to have her out again I reckon (That’s if the petrol stations haven’t closed down).

Hopefully get out to a few cars & coffee events and burger run’s again once this blows over

Cheers!

Unreal!

Sorry @Gemma think I prefer the Evo 😂

Yeah I'd definitely avoid the roads a while yet. They were putting down salt last week due to the crazy cold snap we got. Free iced the E36 got to work and the whole car was still frozen 😂

Cheers, yea I’ll hold off a while yet. Also I’m pretty sure @Gemma showed me the video evidence of the effectiveness of the diff in a particular car park hahaha

I do love titanium bolts, but it costs a fortune to change all of them, I'm prioritising the biggest bolts as this will save the most weight.

Let's be honest here, they're about looks not any actual weight saving, lol.

Be careful as well, they're not suitable for everything. Too hard and not flexible enough for a lot of jobs, same as stainless bolts.

:joy: Oh definitely lol completely cosmetic. Most of the titanium bolts will just be going on headlight brackets and all the stupid little components. Maybe best to just polish the heads on the others then...

In this case yes. Managed to save 800g on my car with them. even though you would never notice such a saving the inner geek and OCD in me is happy with that. For show bolts I prefer stainless as its cheaper but still looks good.

Reminds me of my dads boat. Got a real nice outboard motor bracket fabricated up as there is no option from factory, nicely done in stainless tig welded etc. Who ever fitted it used mild washers and leaves a nice rust stain down the hull.

Anyway, enough of my boring story.

Well I Finally gave her a well deserved bath... Had got a few new Gyeon cleaning products to try so gave most of them a go today. Really happy with the outcome!

The ‘Bathe’ shampoo simply glided over the paintwork. Then rinsing & using the Gyeon silk dryer to finish.

I moved onto the scuttle panel & mirror cover where the colour was starting to fade slightly. A quick wipe with the prep cleaner then the trim coating was applied.

Gyeon Tyre slick applied & a wipe over with ‘cure’ hydrophobic sealant to finish off the work.
