Seems there is a new Focus RS in development...
Number plate is owned by Ford Team Performance and has been spotted being driven by one of Fords AWD specialists.

Saw the bonnet vents straight away but only noticing the rear wing attachment - strange looking addition if its going to be OEM.

I don't mind the vents. Not sure on the wing. Looks fantastic in magnetic grey though!

Seen my first rs tonight in blue, it's nice but not special enough if that makes sense. The mk1 looks far better. It's a bit like the Leon cupra the first 1 is still the best looking.

Same! Somewhere on the A7 between Banbridge & Dromore heading Northbound around 12noon.
Have to say it looked like any other Focus.

I'm going to be flamed here but I prefer the a45 amg it looks special.
The A45amg only stands out from all the other A series if you add the aero option. I drove one last summer and apart from the race exhaust wasn't overly impressed.
The pedal box is designed for people with very small and narrow feet. The cabin is very small as well.
I saw the blue rs and the colour makes it stand out from all the millions of other Focuses, I haven't driven one. For me they need to offer an automatic.

The 1 I spotted must have had the Aero pack wings on the front bumper and a larger rear spoiler. I have wee feet size 7 shouldn't be a problem lol. Having said that they are 10 grand more than the focus that's a lot of money, but with 370 bhp I'm sure they go like stink. I still think the focus is far to understated, but they will still sell in their thousands. All the reviews and owners are loving them. I'm going to sound old fashioned but in the 70s my auld lad had a rs1800 and a rs 2000, they looked special compared to the standard car. Same as the escort and 3 door Sierra. I love fast fords alas the cars I like are now totally out of my reach, so I will just look back fondly at driving a friends seriously fast escort back in the 90s. Going out with the auld lad in his rs he wasn't shy of them sideways was normal lol.

I agree about the rs looking the same as the other focuses, the golf r is the same. I would love a golf r with an 'X' pack like ford used to do :grinning: . The rs1800 was an awesome car, don't forget the the hsr chevette as well.

That's the way styling has went more understated, there is no doubt the golf focus and amg 45 are fast capable cars. But they just lack that something special that sets them apart from a gtd or an st.
I loved his rs1800 although I got 1 hell of a hiding for picking the paint off the rusty arches. It was a year old at the time, Ford fixed it but it was sold for a rs2000. The auld lad wasn't a fan of the hsr he went for a 131 miafiori 2000 after that, then a twin cam all went down hill then lol. I remember him driving me home from the pub pissed in the rs1800 completely sideways the whole way home. Back when drink driving was acceptable lol.

I'm seeing a lot more of those a45 AMGs about recently, all white, must have been a good deal on them because they all sort of appeared at the same time. One of my neighbours has one and it hasn't all the spoilers on it or aero pack, I'm guessing, just looks like a boggo a class. They definitely need the aero pack! I quite like them.

Saw one parked outside my office in Balloo in Bangor. Opened the window waiting for the fella to return only to be massively disappointed when he drove off. Sounded woeful. Also think it's a bit understated, but looks pretty good.

Love the A45 AMG, would be my pick. I think value for money though the focus appears to be a really awesome piece of kit.

Regarding the styling, I agree the focus is a tad tame but look at the alternative... The Type R (imo) looks terrible like something straight out of a fast & furious movie!

Really hard to please everyone.
