Got ours back on Friday after a 3 week break(down). To cut a long story short, it appears to have had the keyless module fail, so a brand new replacement supplied, eventually, and fitted by BLRC, and it was good to go again. 2 years of ownership and its the first time it had let us down.

Something similar happening to my parents 2014 Freelander where both keys are not being recognised by the car and they are having to hold the key against the wee wireless logo on the steering column to be recognised - LR can't see them until April apparently

Anywhere else they could go to get it checked out? Based in Coleraine but are up in Belfast every week

There's a place in Dervock does Landrover repairs. Always seems to be busy when I drive past.

By the way, good luck to anyone changing a 21" alloy who isn't reasonably strong :joy:

Had to change one over last night and could not believe the weight in it and then getting it aligned onto the studs

I would dread to think what LR would charge for that too. When I initially rang up, BLRC was booked until May, so I said I’d leave it with them to work on it when they could. The majority of its time away was waiting for the part to arrive from LR.

@Boydie a warning that all of the above will not be cheap, well cheap compared to the dealer but they are your kind of top level indie’s along with blrc.

Got sorted with Jamiesons in Dervock yesterday - he said there is a module or something in the roof relating to the keys which he has ordered. Should arrive next week but can see him for a couple weeks

Anyone familiar with this module? Hard to fit yourself?

Not familiar with it but id be pretty confident it will need coding so probably worth letting them at it.

As far as I am aware the guy said to dad that he could take the module when it comes in and see if he could get it done somewhere else so I assume it doesnt need coding - i think ill get him to pick it up, i'll research it online and maybe have a go. Keep the appointment with them and if it doesnt work then they can sort it

Great job, being a Land Rover there will definitely be a write up online and most likely a YouTube video tutorial.

Anyone have the rear hub bushing removal tool or one that would work for an l322 they’d fancy selling?

In true LR fashion, it appears it was too good to last. It has lay down this morning, for the third time with the same issue, not recognising the key. She was out doing a grocery shop with our toddler, and when she returned it opened as normal, but then wouldn’t recognise the key to start and then it’s now not locking/unlocking. Got it home on the emergency start, but it wont recognise the key or even the spare.

At this stage my wife has lost heart in it, and I’d say the writing is on the wall if it’s not an easy fix.

Anyone know where to look? I assume, with it being intermittent like that, it must be a short in the wiring. It has had a new earth strap and new keyless module within the last 5weeks.

Possible water ingress where module is?
