People are dicks in rallies, media being the worst! Own fault really! Ogier's gearbox is under investigation so final results can change!
Whats this about? Don't see anything on it on the wrc site..

Rally results and scrutineering are empowered to the rally organisers, it's not really a promoter issue. These competitor notices are posted all the time and are freely available for anyone to view on the event website. All the Rally Mexico notices are here, if you want to read: Competitors Notice Board - Rally Guanajuato Corona 2017

The reference to the gearbox is a footnote in the final events results classification and the powerstage classification. It's at the bottom of this PDF: http://www.rallymexico.com/files/rep/5.12_Official_Final_Classification.pdf

Just watched the highlights there, what a finish for Meeke, awesome!!

Likewise, I've just watched the highlights, Meeke was lucky all the same at the end!

Can anyone tell me what the deal is with the silver window tint? As in none of the cars had it on the front two side windows like they normally do?

The Hyundai team do their usual bit for the Channel 5 coverage where they get one of their drivers to "explain" the cars and he mentioned no silver tint this year, different cockpit cooling and having to carry a 3ltr camelbak instead of the usual 2ltrs due obviously to the extra heat now in the car.

From French Media....

The officials of the rally of Mexico took a lot of time yesterday before publishing the final ranking of the race but this one remains still in suspense. Indeed the final positions of Sébastien Ogier, Ott Tanak and Lorenzo Bertelli are reserved.
The Commissioners' attention is focused on the Ford Fiesta RS WRC gearbox, which obviously does not respect the regulations to the letter. It is possible that the three competitors are disqualified, are penalized with a time penalty or their team may simply be fined. All cases have already been seen in the past. Ogier's # 1 car seems to be particularly at the center of the discussions.

Lucky lucky boy indeed! Brilliant result though

Three great rallies so far, great mix of cars and drivers at the top.

Still think the Hyundai is the strongest car, Neuville just needs to keep it together.

The Toyota is surprisingly capable straight out of the blocks. Both Juho & Jari matti have put the Yaris up front on a few occasions. Ogier & Ott are both naturally fast & in a tried & tested car (from the M-Sport Fiesta factory). It's a reliable formula but even they aren't cleaning up as they really should!

Kris's engine has just blown at end of 2nd stage of today :-( Arrived at stage end with smoke pouring out of bonnet. Tried to start it but wouldn't start, oil everywhere apparently.
