1000hp rs6 is running 9,s as the quickest uk rs6 I believe is a 10,4 running 707hp .

I know there's 2 900+ hp RS6 v10s in England, imagine they might not be doing drag strip's if the fastest is a 707hp one? 🤔 Most stage 2 MRC cars are 750+

Tried finding times for them but couldn't get much lol, will hopefully find out myself at the next st Angelos

RS6 carries a hell of a lot of weight. Although should run faster than 10.6 with a genuine 1000hp

Although 10.6 to 11 flat is a huge jump, as is 10.3 to 10.6, or 11.0 to 11.3

DCT cars make launching easy and very consistent, as well as the rest of the track. But they are bloody fast.

Neil's Beetle really did look superb, even better with the sunshine.
Think I asked this before ,what sort of power is the Ford and what’s your average times stevie if you don’t mind saying openly .?

What car does Billy McKnight drive?

10 second car is very impressive.

2018 991 911 Turbo S with Kline exhaust and sports cats - seriously rapid car and got a hell of a lot of attention. He only did 2 runs before having to take his wife to the hotel lol then couldn't be assed coming back!

Great day had, love being involved in these events and getting to chat to people about their cars and my car.

My official times:

  • Run 1 - 11.33s @ 117mph (60ft 1.610s) Normal road tyre pressure (approx. 40psi but never checked) vs Stage 2 C63 AMG
  • Run 2 - 11.60s @ 117mph (60ft 1.760s) Dropped down to 30psi all round
  • Run 3 - 11.50s @ 122mph (60ft 1.720s) Upped to 33psi all round
  • Run 4 - 14.48s @ 99mph (60ft 4.400s) No idea whose time this is but def not mine, possibly a fault in the timing
  • Run 5 - 11.42s @ 122mph (60ft 1.670s) Think I upped the pressure back to normal road psi
  • Run 6 - 11.44s @ 122mph (60ft 1.680s)
  • Run 7 - 11.62s @ 118mph (60ft 1.800s)
  • Run 8 - didn't receive a card for this

My fastest Dragy time:

  • Run 1 - 1/4 in 11.17s and 0-60mph in 3.19s

No point listing the rest as they were all slower but consistent. The temperature at the start of the day was around 16.5-17 degrees and by the end of the event it was 23. Car was roasting as well so I guess it had to factor!

The day was reasonably well ran, wasn't impressed with the shared slots with the off road rally but I guess everyone has to get their races in and sure lets the cars cool down every half hour. If you went for a dander round the show, you'd have missed out on slots so I never even left the air strip, didn't see the show and shine or even go to the toilet for fear of missing out!

As said, the crowd was mental, so many people there and cars - pity there were very few high end motors there which would have been nicer to see but at least the event gives everyone the opportunity to see what their cars can do.

i saw it happening

the sprint / rally guys were doing two laps at the start but they where crossing the drag strip for their second lap one guy in a clio actually drove right across to the start line as he had no idea where to go when he had finished . there was no directions from the marshalls at this stage.

the impreza was on his second lap and should have turned right to go off the track the escort was on his first lap crossing the drag strip to start his second lap .

a millisecond off confusion between both drivers and they really hit each other the escort seamed to have serious front wing damage and had to be pushed off the track and the impreza just drove off . They guy in escort was not impressed .

No idea on power, and traction/weight is the killer.

But both myself and Richard have never managed better than 11 dead in Northern Ireland.

At a proper strip 9's are fairly easy to achieve.

Although I've little traction the entire 1/4, so much is lost on the launch. If you can gain 0.1s on the launch, you can almost always see a gain of 0.2 on the 1/4.

A good 4wd car here should be able to do 1.5 to 1.7 quite easily. I'd say very few 2wd cars ( unless automatic ) will see sub 2.0s 60fts. On a drag strip with decent tyres, 1.5s 60fts ( or sometimes less ) are doable with 2wd. My best 10 years or so ago was a 1.55s 60ft, and 9.85 at 145. Richard last year did a 1.36s 60ft when he ran a 9.55
I'd expect mine to be mid 9's now too at mid 150's but I just havent been back over to try.

The 60ft/launch is just so important and can easily see a full second or more drop plus the fact you also get grip the rest of the way vs an airfield.

I didnt see the slips for the Porsche, but would think it's 60fts must be damn near 1.5s Nothing launched like it on the day

Would you ever invest in going to a 4wd machine or building something way lighter than what you currently have .it would take a serious amount of money to do that I suppose is another thing

I could do many things, but that isnt just what the car is about.

And I could build all sorts...TBH I just dont really want to. I'm fairly happy with what I have. It never will be the fastest at anything, but it's just for fun so it's no problem.
It would be very easy to build something smaller, lighter, faster or whatever, 4wd etc....but I'm not really that interested in doing that. And going all out in that sense...usually ends up not road legal, which massively impacts ability to use the thing in the first place. Then it needs a trailer, tow vehicle etc etc. It can all become another massive expense and ballache for even less use of the car.
Maybe someday I'll go down that route, but I don't see it in the foreseeable future.
