Was the same with the stock car racing. They had a “project” on the shore shore road were they built cars to improve their driving awareness :joy::joy:
Must have been 30 years ago that my dad who was blind was somehow given the opportunity to drive a stock car around the Dunmore track. It was on Radio Ulster for some reason, can't remember why. The young lads were offenders in a rehab programme but for some reason thought that because my dad could drive, he could see a bit so stopped giving him directions. The one in the car with my dad then asked him why he'd run over a tyre on the inside of the track and bounced the wee lad all over the place. Oh how we laughed.

A hurling bat was needed there.

Was making my heart race thinking of someone doing that to my cars

What is shocking as well is the fact people have saw them and confronted them, they just carried on with trying to steal it.

Having seen someone’s car being stolen in broad daylight in stranmillis many years ago- these are not rational people you are dealing with. It’s strange how my reaction at that time was shock at their gall, but that was me being very naive to the sort of people they are and that they wouldn’t give two clucks about me or what I thought.

Glad no innocents got hurt in the above vid, horrendous.

Nothing to loose and being sent to a holiday camp for a couple of years just isn’t a deterrent

No they wouldn’t , they don’t have the balls to knife anyone. The problem is the inbreeding of these wee hoods. I’m not casting the line here but odds on they are from round the lower falls. They all breed within a square mile of each other. When that happens you’ll get these sort of characters. The same can be said for all the scumbag from both sides of the divide.

Grown men stealing cars to show off to their inbred pals. Shows they’ve the mental age of children.

I have seen that car a few times on the road, it is seriously clean for the age of it. Glad to see it’s still in one piece after those ****s tried to get it. Hopefully the owner sorts something to prevent it being taken ever as it looks like his pride and joy.

And I was told I was paranoid for not looking to leave my e30 sport in that area overnight on my way back from kilbroney

I don’t understand the appeal of it to them as well.

How can stealing somebodies car and wrecking it be considered as fun?

It seems as well they go far afield as well to get cars was there not somebody on here who lived a good bit outside of Belfast and he caught them in his garage trying to steal his car?

Destroying someones pride and joy is so much better than stealing a car the owner doesn't give a **** about. That's part of the appeal for them. I grew up in the outer reaches of the west and they were a friggin pest in the 80's onwards. My family had bought their house near a quiet village called andersonstown in the late 50's when there were no estates and only fields. Then Beirut got built around us. I left in '90 and the rest of us followed suit quickly. There were plenty of good people there, just a small hardcore of young lads who were out of control and had never been taught any rules at all.

Exactly the same story as my family apart from they lived up the hill a bit more from you. I think we live very near you still if I remember correctly from views you posted from your house while back.

I remember a friend of mine had an escort cosworth back in the day, was leaving it in somewhere in Lisburn to get work done to it and a guy actually tried to steal it when he was in talking to the guy about the work, someone ran in an told my mate and the ran out and caught the guy in the drivers seat, broke his jaw! The police were not informed :grinning: true story!

Grew up there myself in the 80’s/90’s . It used to be a nice place and was part of the countryside until as you say it expanded and the rats moved in. We moved away in the mid 90’s and I’d maybe drive through it once in a blue moon, I don’t think it has as much of a problem with the stolen cars but the lower falls and divis would still be where most of it happens now.

Simple fact is they travel. Right out to Bangor and beyond. Plenty of stuff goes missing from all over the country and ends up burnt out back at divis.

I wouldn't even leave the MX-5 at a petrol pump while paying for fuel without immobilising it.

Got caught up with a FN2 shape civic and fellas on a moped last Sunday up round Monagh Bypass. Wild west.

True indeed, I was living at home with my rents in Bangor when my prelude was lifted , luckily we managed to chase the wee c**ts and get the police on the chase too by time they got to tillysburn but they kept it lit whole way and police chose to throw down the stinger...car wrecked and the c**ts got away... Sort of.
